We, at Ocean View, believe that it is possible to live in the presence and power of God right now. The good news that Jesus proclaimed was far more than the minimal entrance requirements for getting into heaven when you die. Through Jesus, we can have a relationship with God that continues to grow and develop through the years. We can become progressively more and more like Jesus as we walk with Him each day. That means that we can begin to think and feel what Jesus would think and feel if He were in our place, and consequently we can begin to do what Jesus would do.
We want to walk together through the good times and the tough times as we grown in the new life that God has given us in Jesus Christ. Specific ministries are available to help with the various challenges that life may bring our way.
As you read the New Testament, you come to understand the growth or transformation is a normal, expected part of our walk with Christ. But, it is not automatic. It doesn’t just happen, though it is always a matter of grace.
With that in mind, we offer adult Bible Study groups on Sunday morning at 9:00 AM, 10:10 AM and 11:30 AM with a wide range of ages represented. Participants have the option of a topical or verse-by-verse study. Regardless of what you’re looking for, we should have a place for you.
Located just outside the sanctuary in the foyer is a large Welcome / Information Counter. Each Sunday morning there are friendly, helpful individuals here waiting to help you find the class that is right for you. For more information, contact Everett Douglas, Missional Minister, at 843.449.3384.
Tuesday Morning – Ladies Bible / Book Studies
New Study Begins Tuesday, February 7 (7 weeks)
By Priscilla Shirer
Facilitator: Linda Stefan / Room C101 – 9:30 – 11:15 AM
All day, every day, an invisible war rages around you — unseen, unheard, yet felt throughout every aspect of your life. A devoted, devilish enemy seeks to wreak havoc on everything that matters to you: your heart, your mind, your marriage, your children, your relationships, your resilience, your dreams, your destiny. If you’re tired of being pushed around and caught with your guard down, this study is for you.
Wednesday Evening Activities Resume on September 7
We offer a wide variety of adult learning options on Wednesday evening in hopes of meeting your specific needs. Each Wednesday at 6:00 or 6:30 you will have an opportunity to gather with others having similar interests to explore a topic relevant to your daily life. Many have found these studies to be not only enjoyable, but very conducive to learning, community, and life-change. Since there is a wide variety of learning options, most adults are immediately drawn to a particular study. These studies have proven attractive to both individuals who have been attending for years, as well as those who have just begun attending. We’re currently offering 3 eight-week sessions a year: winter, spring and fall. A different format is used in summer. Please join us! For more information, please contact Everett Douglas, Missional Minister, at 843.449.3384.
Prior to our Wednesday Evening Options we offer an optional meal at a nominal price beginning at 5:30 pm. Adults – $6, Children under 12 – $3.50. Please join us!
Facilitator: Terry Scalzitti / Room C101 (13 week study)
Over the years God has used the truths of Experiencing God to awaken believers to a radically God-centered way of life. As a result, millions have come to know God intimately, to recognize His voice, and to understand His will for their lives. This modern classic is even more vibrant today than when it began. God is at work around you. Will you join Him? Sign up sheet is available at the Info desk.
(Begins February 1 at 6:30 pm)
“Shout to the Lord, all the earth;
break out in praise and sing for joy!
Sing your praise to the Lord ,
with the harp and melodious song,
with trumpets and the sound of the ram’s horn.”
This non-auditioned group rehearses Wednesdays at 6:30-7:45 PM in the choir room. From Black Gospel to Classical, we prepare a variety of choral music to be sung in our 9AM Traditional Service. For more information on joining the choir, please email Stephen Hand with any questions. E: firstname.lastname@example.org.

Each session consists of three elements: video instruction, group discussion and personal reflection. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. Join us.
4. “QUIETING A NOISY SOUL”
Facilitators: Jeff & Cyndi Chestnut / B107 (13 weeks)
Sounds of guilt, anxiety, anger, despair, and even entertainment can generate overwhelming noise in our souls. The quiet rest and joy promised by the Lord Jesus can seem illusive, and almost impossible. Yet His words still beckon to us: “Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.“ (Matthew 11:28) Quieting a Noisy Soul provides the roadmap out of the turmoil for the struggling believer. At the same time its Biblical truths will bring added joy and peace to the soul of any believer seeking greater intimacy with the Lord Jesus. (Begins at 6:30 PM)
Facilitator: Amanda McDowell / Room C101 – 6:30 – 8:00 PM
Meets 3rd Thursday Monthly (except July & December)
We hope to bring together a group of those who have a passion to follow God’s heart for orphans, adoption and foster care while serving widows. Our purpose is to reach orphaned children by following the heart of God. The number one desire for all children is to be loved. We want to follow the greatest example and Love Like Him.
