Brenda Thomas
Brenda grew up in a small town in Indiana. Along with her parents, she moved to Florida during her teens where she met her wonderful husband, Jeff. After a brief time in the wilds of Montana, they settled in Myrtle Beach in 1979. The couple has two children, Michelle and Josh, who are now busy with their own careers. Other than being with family, some of Brenda's happiest times are at church, where she sings on the praise team and helps with community outreach projects. She has worked in early childhood education since 1984, and taught kindergarten in a local private Christian school for 15 years before coming to OVBC in 1999.
Brenda loves to see the delight on the children’s faces as they arrive in the morning, ready to learn. The excitement in their voices when they come in her office to tell her about some new skill they have mastered or something special that has happened in their day reminds Brenda why she does what she does. Seeing the joy they experience as they realize how much they are loved by God makes any sacrifice or inconvenience pale by comparison.
Her desires are to employ a staff that shows these little ones the unconditional love of Christ and to assist parents in the difficult job of teaching their children the life skills they need to grow into adults who, through Christ, live up to their full potential.
